Elf Lip Exfoliator how to quick tutorial!!

Good afternoon dolls! So sorry I've been a bit MIA over the past week or so but my baby boy was so sick so I was home dealing with a cranky sick baby over that time, and any moms out there know how that can be, I literally could not even get on the computer without my son trying to be on me, he was literally attached to my hip all week lol.

But moving on, today I wanted to do a quick "how to" on how to exfoliate your lips. I have dry lips and no matter how much I moisturize, they always get so dry, and I hate that feeling when skin starts flaking off your lips, so I must exfoliate them at least once a week to get any dry, flaky unwanted yuckies off so I like to use an affordable ELF lip treatment. In my personal opinion, I don't think you should have to spend a lot of money on a lip exfoliator when there's no need too. I know Lush makes one that isn't horribly priced, also Victoria Secret makes one along with other beauty brands that carry them, but sometimes the best way is the most affordable way, which I think everyone can agree on. I got my Elf lip exfoliator at Wal-Mart and it is only $3.00 wherever Elf products are sold I.e, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.

So enough rambling let's get started:

This is what the packaging looks like, in case you've never seen it:
Comes in a lipstick type of tube packaging which I really like:
So first you must dampen your lips just a bit, then apply the product on your lips directly, I like to swipe it a good 4-5 times to get a good amount of product on my lips.
This is what it looks like, I like to let it sink into my lips for about 2-3 minutes
Then I just take a cotton round and put a little bit of water on it and wipe the treatment off
Lastly, apply your favorite lip balm, I'm using Soft Lips Berry Mint
 TADA, nice, smooth, exfoliated lips!

How do you guys exfoliate your lips? Do you also like this Elf lip treatment or no?? Let me know in the comments, along with any questions you may have!

Till next time,

XOXO,

NOTD-Rimmel Bare Naked

Happy Friday dolls! TGIF! I don't know about you but this week has seemed to drag for me, so I'm very excited that it's finally the weekend. I have A TON of upcoming posts coming in the next few weeks including a few hauls, outfits of the day, and makeup looks of the day, and a few beauty products I've been testing out that I want to review and share with you. But for today I just wanted to keep it nice, short and simple and share my nails of the day. I picked up this peachy nail polish at the Ulta clearance rack a few days ago called "Bare Naked" and decided to try it out last night. I have been really into nudes and neutrals alot as of lately so since it was $1.99 I couldn't pass it up!

Looks can be deceiving..it looks so gorg in the bottle that's what caught my attention but I have to admit, I'm not in love with this color. In order for it to look opaque I had to apply 3 coats to my nails, I don't have a problem with that but the color and consistency wasn't enough for me to "Love it". It's just meh in my book. I do love the nail polish applicators of the Rimmel nail polishes because they are a bigger thicker barrel so it makes applying the color to your nails alot easier, especially on the right hand, it's always harder for me to do that hand accurately. The formula of this polish is a bit runny, but not horrible so applying it was pretty easy. I thought this was a color I could wear perfectly for spring with pastels and such, but it's just not in my honest opinion. I think it's something I could of passed on because I feel with my tan skin it clashes and kind of makes me look like I have "dirty" hands, maybe that's why it was on clearance?? LOL

Do you own this nail polish? What are your thoughts on it? Love it? Hate it?Let me know in the comments!

The picture on the left is with flash, the second is no flash so you can see the "true" color of it.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! till next time!

ipsy March Glam Bag!

Good day dolls! Hope everyone is having a fab week thus far. In today’s post I wanted to mention ipsy. What is ipsy you ask??

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that provides you with 4-5 products (usually makeup) for $10/month that are either deluxe sample-sized or full-sized.

There are various different monthly subscription services out there, such as GlossyBox, Birchbox, Sample Society to name a few. There are also different memberships for nail polishes, jewelry, and shoes, I’m not too familiar with any of those but we won’t be getting into those today anyway. I wanted to share my March glam bag and show some of the goodies you’re provided with when you sign up for a monthly subscription service.

Over a year ago I was originally a member of ipsy but due to changes in my personal life had to take a break from it, but I missed being a member of it and receiving my monthly “glam bag” if you will, because you receive some awesome products from all different brands in smaller sizes so it gives you a chance to truly try out a product before deciding on investing in a full size product which sometimes can be pricey depending on the product.

So, here are the products for March’s bag, along with swatches of everything. I’m excited to try everything out, but especially the lipstick because it doesn’t look like a color I already own, and it’s by Bare Minerals which I own no lip products by them, and the blue eyeliner.

This bag came with:

-NYX 3 eyeshadow palette in "Love in Rio"
-Bare Minerals lipstick in "Get Ready"
-Pixi Makeup Primer
-Chella Bleu Indigo Eyeliner

This is what this months bag looks like it's all about "vacation travel"

Youtube stars Nicole Guerrerio & Jaclyn Hill Meet & Greet!!

Good afternoon lovelies! I wanted to share this post because a few weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity of meeting youtube beauty guru's Nicole Guerrerio and Makeup artist Jaclyn Hill. They came to my local mall to do a meet and greet at Lush Cosmetics. I've been a fan of Nicole's for a LONGGGG time now, and found Jaclyn through watching Nicole's channel, but quickly grew to love her just as much, they both have AMAZING talent, and videos on youtube and are also both very funny. As soon as I heard word that these beautys were coming, I cleared my schedule and made sure that I was going to be available to meet them!

When I arrived at the mall, the line out the door of Lush was pretty long, but not horrible. Either way I didn't care I was waiting to meet them lol. Nicole arrived first with her boyfriend Jeremy, and I believe his sister who had a small baby in a stroller. Jaclyn arrived moments after and as soon as Nicole and Jaclyn laid eyes on each other they ran towards each other and hugged, lol it was cute! Shortly after because the event wasn't starting for another 20 mins or so, they first settled into Lush and took pictures with staff and with each other. Jaclyn's mom came with her as well, she is gorgeous!

Once the event started at 2pm, because the store is a small store the Lush staff were only allowing 5 people in at a time so it wouldn't be crowded and so you can really get some 1 on 1 time with the both of them. Finalllly what feels like forever and a day, I finally was able to get in. I was very nervous and not going to lie-felt starstruck LOL. I'm very shy and feel like I'm not a good conversation starter so while I was in line I was wondering what I was going to talk about to these girls. I asked them skincare questions about some concerns I have with my skin for both drugstore and high end recommendations. I had a few laughs with them and even got to take pictures with them. They are sooooo down to earth and funny, not stuck up or snotty in anyway like some people can be, once I started talking with them I felt like I had known them for years, which made me love them even more. Nicole is sooo tall OMG I felt like a midget next to her LOL she had heels on too, but beautiful inside and out none the less, their both even more beautiful inside and out in person. So enough babbling, here's a few pics I snapped while I was there, please don't mind my face I was nervous and it was EXTREMELY hot in that store so I look a bit red in the photo lol. I was also running errands earlier so I didn't get a chance to "glam up" if you will. Either way I am so happy and thankful I was able to be part of this event and I hope to meet them again one day soon!

Nicole arriving is pictured wearing a black floral dress, approaching Jaclyn

Did anyone else get the chance to attend this meet and greet with these 2 beautiful Guru's?? Has anyone ever met Nicole or Jaclyn at any events? Please share and let me know in the comments!

February Favorites!!

Hey dolls! Hope everyone is great and having a Fabulous week thus far! I know it's mid-March but I'm just getting around to posting my February favorites. I really wanted to mention them this month since they are some awesome products! So without further adue, here they are! If anyone has any questions regarding any products or would like a review, please let me know in the comments!

1. Nars Torrid blush-Gives me such a nice glow, you do have to have a light hand with this blush because it’s very easy to over due, but it has great pigmentation like most Nars blushes, and gives me a beautiful, subtle look, great for everyday wear.
2. Ben-Nye Banana Powder-Absolutely love this powder, it’s so affordable, and I love that they finally changed the packaging of it! It does have a yellow tint to it, hence the name Banana, but it is such a silky, fine milled powder, and it goes on beautifully. It has become a staple in my collection since I discovered it. I apply it over my foundation and set my concealer with it and it doesn't make me look powdery or cake faced, it has great coverage and lasts all day.
3. Mac Love Nectar Lipglass-Pinkish, coral lip-gloss with sparkles in it=LOVE! I wear it sometimes alone, or over a pinky-nude lipstick, it wears great and looks great, so I've really been enjoying it as well.
4. Revlon Color-Stay Foundation-Revlon must have changed the formulation of this foundation, I used to use this 4 years ago and it was runnier than I remember, nonetheless a great foundation, I even heard it was discontinued for a while. It wears long as it indicates-I've worn it up to 12 hours or so and I do touch up at least once a day because I am VERY oily. It does not emphasize any dry patches on me, or look cakey, it reminds me of a mousse type of foundation when I apply it to the back to my hand when I’m getting ready to apply to my face. It does dry quickly so you have to move fast, but hands down one of the best drugstore foundations I’ve tried and LOVE.
5. Mac Pro-Longwear Concealer-The BEST concealer I have ever tried, and I have tried many! I've tried concealers from all brands, high and low, and found a problem with so many of them until I saw all the rave reviews and everyone using this concealer on Youtube so I had to get it, and I’m so glad I did, I get blemishes from time to time and this covers them so well I can’t even see my blemish at all! It also works very well under the eyes to brighten that area, and Jacklyn Hill likes to use it on her eyelids which works well too. I can’t see myself living without this concealer, thank you Mac for finally making a product that works so well for me!
6. Josie Maran Argan Illuminizor-I love to mix this into my foundation some days when I want a really glowy dewy look, I use a pump of it and mix in with my foundation and BAM, beautiful glowing skin. It doesn't make you look glittery or sparkly, just the right amount of a glow. Some days I do use it just as a cheek highlighter it’s great for that too. Josie Maran makes some great products and I can’t wait to try more from her line!
7. Benefit Hoola Bronzer-I love bronzers, I own a few but this one I have found myself to be reaching for more the month of February. I've had this for quite sometime but just recently started using it more and more. When I have time to contour, I love using this bronzer, it’s matte and it’s a great shade, doesn't make you look muddy or orange.
8. Mac Ginger Root Lip Pencil-Great pinkish/nude lip liner, got this at a CCO sometime ago so it is discontinued but if you can get your hands on it, it’s great! I love lining my lips before applying my lipstick for the day as it makes your lipstick long wearing, and this lip liner is a tad darker than my skin tone so it shows up well on my lips.
9. Mac 116 Blush Brush-One of my favorite brushes from Mac. In fact it was the first brush I purchased from Mac years ago, it applies blush to the apples of my cheek bones so flawless and effortlessly. I also like to use this for highlighting as well. It picks up a good amount of product, doesn't shed when I've washed it, I've had it over 4 years and it is still in great shape. All in all great brush!
10. Real Techniques Powder Brush-I recently discovered this line of brushes, I know I know I’m late but OMG, this powder brush is HEAVEN. I’m not even joking! I’m not one to go out and buy a $60 powder brush because I think that’s a lot of money for brushes and just can’t justify spending that kind of money for a powder brush, or any brush for that fact, but when I first saw these brushes and how affordable they are I had to try them, I was previously using an Elf powder brush, it was scratchy, was shedding and just annoyed my face when it came time to apply powder. This brush is dense, big and very, very soft. It feels luxurious on my face and now I LOVE applying my powder. I've washed it a few times and no shedding, so I look forward to adding more of these brushes to my collection.

What are some of your current favorites? Let me know in the comments!

XOXO,

Jen

Anastasia Contour Kit

Morning dolls! Hope everyone is having a good week, it's almost Friday so be excited for that! I just quickly wanted to mention the infamous Anastasia Contour kit, I've been trying to get my hands on this precious gem since it released, and it ALWAYS sells out quickly before I can even get to it! I don't tend to contour on a regular basis, but this would be a great addition to my makeup collection, it's the perfect kit with 3 shades of highlighters on the first row which are:
 -Vanilla, Banana, and Sand.

And the bottom row is all bronze contour colors:
 -Java, Fawn, and Havana

I've seen and heard that the palette is the perfect size, fit's great in your hands so it's not too big or bulky, and the pan sizes are a good size as well. Each pan is 3.0 g / 0.11 Oz. I think for the amount of product and variety it's priced perfectly. I've been an Anastasia fan for quite a while now, from what I've seen she puts out great products that really deliver and I admire that. So far I've tried out her Brow Wiz Eyebrow Pencil which I will mention in future posts, her eyebrow gel, eyebrow pencil, and eyebrow powder duo, and all are some favorite products of mine. I can't wait to try out more from her line. This contour palette has received excellent reviews on Makeupalley.com.

Click here if you'd like a direct link, http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=168385/Contour-Kit/Anastasia-Of-Beverly-Hills-/Palettes

I wish Sephora would get these in stock so I can actually swatch them personally, also not a big fan of online shopping, I hate the waiting game lol, but either way, I'm excited to try this product and cannot wait to get it, so Anastasia if you see my post, please release this palette soon, I'm waiting! LOL (wishful thinking).

Here are some swatches, image used from Sephora.community:

All in all, I think this product looks amazing, it will work for all different skin tones which is great, if you are a makeup artist this would be great for your kit as well since there's different options to suite each skin tone, or just like me for the fans who love a good product and want to add it to their collection!

You can purchase it at www.anastasia.net

What are your thoughts on this palette? If you own it, do you love it or not, or are you skipping out on this when it releases? Let me know in the comments! And don't forget to follow my blog if you like what you see!

Till next time my loves,
